Therapy Services

Counselling

Counselling is an umbrella term that covers a wide range of talking therapies  often integrating elements of other therapeutic approaches (such as CBT) what makes counselling unique is that it works at greater relational depth  to support the person to achieve the best outcome. People often choose counselling to address underlying emotional or psychological issues that they are experiencing as a result of the impact of challenging events or experiences that are having a negative impact on their lives. This type of work can range from a single session for one off issues to multiple planned sessions in order to support deeper seated issues.

Common themes that we work with include: stress, anxiety, burnout, trauma, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

bereavement, relational issues, self esteem, anger and depression, identity, addiction, loss.

EMDR Therapy

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based psychotherapy that helps people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and other psychological disturbances.

EMDR employs a unique eight-phase treatment approach that systematically targets the past, present, and future aspects of a stored memory. After a proper history taking and treatment planning through a series of guided eye movements or other dual attention stimulation, EMDR helps to reduce the emotional impact of disturbing memories and its associated negative effects allowing the person to move forwards in their life.
